Rare Books Library gets listed building status

We are thrilled that our 1983 Rare Books Library has been given listed building status. Founders Joanna van Heyningen and Birkin Haward designed the building to house the the College's collection of rare books, manuscripts, pictures and artefacts and its striking design was recognised by James Stirling who featured it in a BBC television series in 1990, describing its ‘incredible presence, which to me is the definition of monumental.’
