Story of burial uncovering may spark reinterest in the site
We are very excited to be shortlisted for the BD Education Architect of the Year Award. van Heyningen and Haward Architects has been a leader in the field of educational architectural design for over 30 years. Over that time, educational projects have been the mainstay of our work, and in 2007 we were winners of this award. Since then, we have continued to produce innovative, thoughtfully designed and purposeful education buildings which deliver to the end user and client unique and meaningful solutions.
Our education clients range from independent schools to academies, local authorities and contractors - as a result, our range of expertise has to be expansive and encompassing; able to resolve a diverse set of challenges.
We are currently working on our first Passivhaus project, for St Benedict’s School. As a practice we are always looking towards the future of the profession, and how we can use emerging technology to enhance our work. We were an early advocate of BIM technology and used it in the design of Bow School; it is now standard within the practice and used on almost every project.
We have consistently built on our reputation as
education architects, and believe our more recent work reinforces our position.
We would be thrilled to win and look forward to the ceremony in March.
