We are thrilled to discover that our new building at Luckley House School – The Whitty Theatre – is shortlisted for a Brick Award.
Selecting a brick for this project was challenging. The desire was for a brick that would look contemporary as well as compliment the adjacent Grade II listed brick house. It also needed to look elegant as an external façade, as well as backdrop to the stage and foyer internally. Through a careful and lengthy process of research and review, we landed on the chosen brick; a project-specific blend: “Freshfield Lane Luckley House”. Happily, this blend successfully fulfils both these requirements; externally the facade has a reddish grey hue and internally a warm red glow.
vHH worked closely with the School and specialist theatre consultants Charcoalblue, to design an inspirational facility, achieving a warm and intimate space within the auditorium that is loved and well used by both the school and the local community.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 10th November.
