Commissioner’s House gets planning & SAM Consent

As Spring gears up, so does our work on the Commissioner’s House project at The Historic Dockyard Chatham. Having received approval for planning and Scheduled Ancient Monument consent, we are now excited about works getting started.

Scheduled Ancient Monument (SAM) status is the highest protected building status in the UK, and approval for works to these buildings must be signed directly by the Secretary of State! Now that we have this very official sign off, the team and contractors can begin works to address critical repairs and structural interventions to improve the accessibility and longevity of the building, as well as to dramatically reduce its carbon output.

Keep up to date with the project HERE.

You can find out more about the history of the oldest naval building in the country and find out how to donate to the funding for the works on the dedicated page of the Dockyard website.
