Final planning approval granted

Leicester Cathedral project

We are delighted that Local Authority Planning Consent has now been granted for our design of a new Heritage Learning Centre at Leicester Cathedral, following some changes to its elevations requested by the Cathedrals Fabric Commission for England.

The next step will be to move forward into RIBA Stage 4, continuing our team’s detailed collaboration with Price and Myers, Martin Thomas Associates, Etude, Light Perceptions and Haley Sharpe Design, to develop and co-ordinate the production information for tender and construction.

We are looking forward to working closely with the Cathedral and its new project director, Simon Bentley, and our key stakeholders, to progress this exciting project, to start on site, and then steer it through the complex process of construction. When completed, the project will transform the Cathedral’s ability to serve wide audiences, both in its mission and ministry, and in its role as a heritage attraction at the centre of Leicester.
