The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and Big Lottery Fund’s Parks for People Programme have approved a £4m grant to English Heritage to deliver Marble Hill Revived to restore and open Marble Hill House to the public for free. The overall project encompasses the refurbishment and reinterpretation of Marble Hill House and the development of various facilities within the park, including the refurbishment and extension of the Grade II listed Stable Block Cafe by vHH and work by J&L Gibbons Landscape Architects to renovate the 18th-century gardens for future generations to enjoy.
Once completed, the house will be open to the public for free five days of the week seven months of the year, rather than only at weekends during the summer. In order to deliver this, it was proposed that the profits from the Stable Block Café are used to support the maintenance and staffing of the House.
