St Benedict’s Junior School extension delights staff and pupils

Passivhaus building for repeat client creates inspiring places to learn

Our New Ark project at St Benedict’s Junior School is now being enjoyed by pupils and staff, as its Passivhaus-designed classroom spaces create inspiring places for learning.

The building is our second for St Benedict’s (following on from the 6th Form & ADT which completed in 2015) and also provides new entrances for the Junior School and Nursery.

There are currently only a handful of schools in the UK built to the Passivhaus standard, making the New Ark a super-sustainable, innovative, educational building.

St Benedict’s Headmaster, Andrew Johnson, said: “The opening of our new Junior School is another very exciting landmark in St Benedict’s history. The new classroom spaces are inspiring places for our youngest pupils to learn, providing the best possible start to their education here.”
