Beeston Hall School
Masterplan
About The Project
Beeston Hall School is a successful independent prep school, for boys and girls, with boarding and day pupils. It has a compact core of buildings grouped around its original house in wider grounds, located a sensitive and protected area of the North Norfolk coast. The school aims to expand its pupil numbers, and Governors wanted to understand how they could sensibly manage development on the small site - planning for the long term - and help them to assess the likely costs and potential programmes to inform business plans and fundraising. The school asked van Heyningen and Haward Architects to produce a development masterplan to realise their vision, analysing the opportunities and constraints of their campus, exploring development options and their costs. We worked with the school to organise basic survey data and collate their site information, and with RLB to produce a series of costed options, and showed how these might be delivered.
