Portland Place School
About The Project
van Heyningen and Haward Architects were commissioned in November 2014 to undertake an architectural appraisal of the existing facilities of Portland Place School Campus. The buildings are all in the Harley Street Conservation Area and are listed, and our consistent review of their suitability and quality allowed an objective review to be made across the entire campus.
We suggested strategies for both qualitative improvements and capacity increase. Some included relatively simple interventions, while others were much more major: remodelling whole areas of the buildings and / or extensions. Together these would transform the school and its ‘learning offer’ as well as the experience of students and staff.
