Save the Baby is a registered charity which supports the St Mary’s Hospital Recurrent Miscarriage Unit, particularly by assisting the associated research programme carried out by the Imperial College Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. This had research facilities located in a small area of the Mint wing, a grade II listed three storey block, formerly 19th century stables. The project converts the unsatisfactory accommodation into good quality facilities for research, administration, teaching and consulting. It provides a base to accommodate the entire unit’s staff. The core of the project is the creation of a welcoming reception area, around which the facilities are planned. This has clarified circulation, as well as maximising natural light in all the working areas.
