Trinity Events Centre, Suffolk Agricultural Showground

The client for this centre approached us having seen the visitor centre at nearby Sutton Hoo. Here the requirement was also for a large column-free main space with provision for groups to assemble outside under cover. The centre provides a highly flexible venue at the heart of the showground which can be divided into eight air conditioned seminar rooms, or function as one large space. In addition, we were asked to provide facilities for catering and entertaining during the annual Suffolk Show in June. While the new building provides a high quality environment for visitors, it also makes reference to the Suffolk vernacular such as weather boarded timber-framed barns and large-span steel-framed agricultural structures.  Materials were carefully chosen with respect to environmental impact, and economy of energy usage.
