West Camden PCT and Extra-Care Facility

Following an invited competition we were commissioned to carry out a feasibility study for West Camden integrated health centre by Camden and Islington Community Solutions. The proposals are for a 6000m2 mixed-use building, located at an entrance to the Alexandra Road estate. The lower three levels provide PCT and GP facilities, with modular rooms located around a top lit atrium rising from the shared ground floor reception and waiting area. The upper floors provide 39 Extra-Care flats, with a floor of communal and care facilities and a roof garden. The proposals have been designed to maximise the development opportunities offered by the tight site. The residential levels are intended to attain the Passivhaus standard for environmental design.
